The Holidays of Many Altar, with the first candle of Chanukah lit in the menorah my mother bought for me many years ago. One year, I asked her to look for one, after so many years of turning away from the “religion,” and I think she ran to the Jewish store that day! LOL! It is so sacred to me, as it has a red horse on one side and an artist with palate on the other and she sent it to me long before the horses came back into my life! I do this in honor of her memory now, to keep what was important to her alive.
We always celebrated both holidays as kids, so this year I am honoring all traditions. Peace on earth, Peace in our hearts. May it be so.
