Book

Oh boy! It’s time to get cookin’ on the book. Honestly gang, I would be lying to you if I didn’t say that complete paralysis had set in. Yep, me, the coach, feeling her own stuff and attempting to walk my talk. Any coach who tells you they have it all figured out is telling you a big ol’ tale! Life is a process and the trick is to know what is going on so you can work with the material, not to have it all completely figured out.

During the contract negotiations I have been wrestling with my fear. Oh my gosh, there it was, my dream come true in black and white complete with dates and legalize. What if I get some kind of writer/creative block…are they going to take my house??  I was visiting Persephone in the underworld and I have been here before so at least it wasn’t new. I knew exactly what was going on and it was time for some action. I felt this exact thing the day I signed the lease on my studio a few years ago.

Mud wrestling is really messy stuff.  I think I finally have her pinned and we are now in the negotiation phase, "If you let me get started, I will let you get up out of the mud!" I know, that doesn’t sound very spiritual, but it is where we are at this moment.

So after a full day of clients today, I have booked out the weekend for both book time and fun time. Play time. As a Capricorn, I have to tell you, this is not always an easy thing…I think this is where she started to have her temper tantrum and began the wild saboteur dance, she was worried that it was summer and she wasn’t going to get any play time. As a result I have asked for help with this aspect. I have invited my husband and close friends to keep an eye on me and to help support me in play time! I now know I have eyes watching me and when I say, "No I can’t I have to work" to often, they will call me on it, come over, hog tie me and get me out in the fresh air! Ahhh…friends and loved ones, what would we do without them.  It’s all about the balance isn’t it?

WRITE IT: How do you bring balance into your life?

PS: I just got back from a business meeting. As I walked into the restaurant I saw a bumper sticker that said, "Let your kid out to play!" I kid you not…how is that for validation!

  1. Hi Sheri! I met you in Boone, through my friend, Tamara, that took your journaling workshop… My husband and I are getting ready to hit the road with no destination in mind! I just wanted to make sure to touch base with you and to let you know what we decided…. My blog is tiaspot.blogspot.com and our travels will be posted on newlynomads.blogspot. com. It’s late at night, so I will be sure to come back to your site when I am more awake – just wanted to say “hi” and thank you (!) for your inspiration!!!

  2. There are no coincidences!!! The universe gives you what you need – or reminds you that you need it!!! Have fun with both the work AND play!!!
