Today's Featured Bliss by Crystal Korzep:

Our generation feels that we have to put on a banquet to serve the King. As I grew up in the 60's and 70's, my mom made a cookie called "powder puff" cookies with a texture that was light, buttery and slightly nutty. We drank egg nog and ate powder puff cookies as we handed out one gift to each other. Christmas Day was for the children to open their gifts. Then, a couple hours, later, we went to midnight mass. I will never forget that tradition. Today, my mother lost her recipe as she gave up this simple tradition thinking that it was boring and done too many years. Funny that that is what I loved. So perhaps, select your families favorite cookie, and sit down by the tree, drink egg not dashed with nutmeg and eat your irresistible cookie.
