T H R E E: Spring Break with Rochelle at the Spark

March 28, 29 & 30, 2011

Rochelle Norwood
9:30 am – 12:00 noon Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
Middle School ages: grades 5-8
Fees on sliding scale: $30-60 for the 3 days

Class Description:
Rochelle is back and we're thrilled! Join Rochelle Norwood for three mornings of extensive painting projects for middle school children during spring break. The focus is on painting with different mindsets. Painting from what's in students' minds to what is on their minds, starting with free form exploration and moving towards capturing students' expression as artists.

Each day will have a different goal. On the first day, students will paint from the heart to find their unique style. On the second day, the class will explore painting from an image, learn brush techniques and how to paint what we see. On the third day the students will create a final painting. Students will bring from home personal pictures or those from magazines as well as objects of inspiration. They may incorporate mixed media materials to paint on: wood, the glass in an old picture frame, or canvas.

Supply List: Creative Spark Studio will provide paint, brushes, and paper the first day, and the children will be asked to bring other supplies that they have on hand at home.
